Meet John Lovich – Founder & Owner

John Lovich’s journey in the automotive industry started young and spans two continents. Born in Adelaide to Italian migrant parents, he spent five years as a teenager in Italy, where he completed his Automotive Mechanical Apprenticeship at an Alfa Romeo, Lancia, and Fiat dealership. This early hands-on training laid the foundation for his strong technical skills and passion for vehicle care.


After returning to Australia, John spent eight years working on European vehicles in Adelaide before traveling. Once he arrived in the Northern Territory, he knew Darwin was home. He quickly became a Workshop Foreman at a local dealership before opening his own NT Auto Repairs business in 2004. Starting from a leased space, John purchased the permanent workshop at 9 Steele Street, Winnellie.
